Hrithik the most kissed at Madame Tussauds

Girls just love him... The day Hrithik Roshan made his entry into the Madame Tussauds in his 'Dhoom 2' avatar, the youngest male from India to enter the esteemed museum's list has now become a hot property and his making his contemporaries all over the world jealous.

Reason: Hrithik's wax statue in Madame Tusssads has sneaked its way past its Hollywood counterparts to emerge among the top 10 most kissed statues in the museum. Though the official press statement of the museum is yet to come a source confirms that he has indeed made it to the top 10.

Last year Shah Rukh Khan had made it to the list of Top 10.

According to the source at least 20% of total kissers are guys and the rest are women, mostly under the age of 30.

"The girls and kids just love him and his popularity has been growing globally thanks to his reality show and also the fact that kids love him as Krrish and girls for his sex appeal, for the first time that a statue in its first year has been among the top 10 most kissed waxed works," the source adds.

The efforts are getting paid for sure now as Hrithik was completely involved in the creation of the figure attending two sittings in Mumbai and London where sculptors captured a catalogue of reference photographs and hundreds precise measurements. Hrithik also donated the red shirt and dark blue jeans, his figure is wearing. The figure took 4 months to make at a cost of around 150000 Pounds.

Wow!! Suzaane will not mind those beautiful females kissing the statue as she can offer her affection to the original who is in her custody... And others who have still not grabbed the opportunity then the B-town's most handsome is waiting for you at Madame Tussads... muaaah.

I am not a real superstar

Megastar Mammooty has requested all his fans to stop referring  him as a superstar. Mammootty believes that the word, as of now, has turned a little bit offensive, as many accusations are now inflicted upon the superstars. Megastar Mammooty was answering the actor Tini Tom as he referred Mammooty to be the only real superstar of Malayalam film industry.

In the new scenario, superstars seem to be the cause of all the problems in our industry. They are now blamed for dominating the industry, not allowing younger stars to come up. They are also accused for running after younger heroines on screens, who are half of their age. And so Mammootty like himself to be called as an actor, rather than an superstar.

Mammootty is currently in the sets of 'The king and the Commissioner' at Hyderabad, in which he will be sharing the screens with Sureshgopi after a long time.

Kobra starts at Chalakkudy

Though the shoot for the new movie 'Kobra' has started at Chalakkudy a couple of days ago, the first schedule will come to a halt as producer's association's film strike is likely to start today. Mammootty was not the part of the shoot as he was planning to join the sets only after completing the shoot of 'The king and the Commissioner' at Hyderabad. Producer -director Lal will be playing the second big character of the movie, which will also feature Maniyanpillai Raju, Lalu Alex, Salim Kumar and Kunchan in other important roles.

Padmapriya and Sruthi Ramakrishnan would be the heroines of the movie, the shoot for which will now restart only after the strike is over.

Prithvi out of Mallu Singh

In an interesting change of events, hit director Vysakh has opted for a relatively fresher face instead of young superstar Prithviraj for his new movie titled as 'Mallu Singh'. The new replacement for Prithvi will be Unni Mukundan of 'Bombay March 12', who is currently looked upon as an actor  poised to bring in much surprises.

Vysakh has already shot the new photo sessions with Unni, in the same type of costumes that was earlier offered to Prithvi for its initial photo session. The change of hero is largely attributed to the clash of dates of the star who has given priority dates to many other projects including his first Hindi film. Vysakh, on the other hand was all set to shoot the move during the January-March season when there is good greenery in Punjab, it's major location. The director who was left with no other options was thus forced to look for an another hero.

'Mallu Singh' which is planned to be on sets by the last week of December will also feature Kunchakko Boban, Biju Menon, Manoj K Jayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the important roles.

PriyaMani with Lal

Few years back, National award winning actress Priyamani has expressed her wish to be in a Mohanlal film at some point of her career. And now it seems that Priyamani will have her dream come true. The new film by director B Unnikrishnan with Lal, titled as 'Grandmaster' will feature Priyamani as the heroine.

Produced by UTV pictures, the movie will have the actress as an advocate who joins hands with the character played by Mohanlal to find clues to a big crime. Though the movie may not feature any romantic scenes between them, it is said to offer enough sequences for Priyamani to compete with the versatile actor in Mohanlal.

Vijay to launch Urumi audio!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Kaviarasu Vairamuthu will unveil the audio of the Tamil version of 'Urumi', one of the best films in Malayalam cinema till date. The audio launch will take place tomorrow (November 15) at the Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai.

'Urumi' by celebrated cinematographer-cum-director, Santosh Sivan, has a host of stars including Prithviraj, Arya, Prabhu Deva, Genelia D' Souza and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. The film also has guest appearances by Vidya Balan and Tabu. Music has been composed by Deepak Dev.

The film has a different take on Vasco Da Gama and his expeditions.

Also present at the event will be top-notch film personalities including Mani Ratnam and AR Murugadoss.

Paachuvum Kovaalanum

The weekend saw two other movies that have no chance in the Box Office, due to their inane story telling methods. Thaha's 'Pachuvum Kovalanum' is one more addition to the list of movies that is sure to sink without a trace. With an awkward script and poor storytelling in the later half, the movie is beyond doubt a waste of your valuable time and money.

The movie has Mukesh as Thomaskutty, a very popular serial director whose latest 'Swathanthriyam Ardharaathriyil' is the rating topper in the TV. Joseph played by Suraj is his cousin brother and also the assistant director of the serial, who is hell bend to make the private and public life his director a little difficult. Both the brothers, who are the sons of two sisters (Kalpana and Sona Nair) who were the first women to appear in a Chavittunatakam stage, often fight in public making others to remember their nicknames 'Pachuvum Kovalanum'.

Paachu's NRI father 'in-law Esthappan, is the producer of his serial. Esthappan is all around looking for a right character to debut into the acting field. Once he find one in the role of Gandhi and make his son-in law agree to his demand. But while shooting his first scene, that is the assassination of Gandhi, Esthappan is shot to death from an actual loaded revolver, used by Godse in the scene. The later half of the movie moves around the investigations about the killing, with a few more characters and their motives unleashed.

Thaha's movie in the scripts of Francis T Mavelikkara moves on in a manageable track till the intermission which comes as a stunner. But after that it is real mayhem with the makers and the viewers having little clue over where the movie is heading. There are plenty of attempts to make fun of the tele- serial production, but little can you make out the story that is being shot for the serial directed by Pachu-which moves in between rain drained heroines to struggles of independence. The movie start to crumble the moment the investigation of C I Benchamin(Riazkhan) begins. That's not all, the entire drama in the second hour is so childish that you wonder how it was okayed by the experienced director in the first place.

Though the movie offers little space for any of its actors to make an impact, all in the cast including Mukesh or Suraj, Meghna raj who appear as actress Sukanya or Jyothirmayi who is Pachu's wife in the movie, play to their roles. Some of the engaging moments of the movie come from Jagathy Sreekumar as Esthappan, who appears in a very realistic makeup for his Gandhi. The technical side is average with names like Utpal V Nayanar and Mohan Sithara contributing not much to make this a memorable fare.

On the whole, 'Pachuvum Kovalanum' is poor show all the way.
